The feature of Championship Friday Night is the 8 p.m. inaugural Crown Royal International Race of Champions (IROC) race at Texas featuring an all-star line-up. Drivers competing in 2004 are: NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, 2003 series champ Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch, the 2003 IROC champion; Indy Racing League IndyCar Series drivers Helio Castroneves, Scott Sharp and 2003 IRL champ Scott Dixon; NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil; World of Outlaws 2003 champion Steve Kinser and Danny Lasoski; and J.J. Yeley who won three USAC championships in 2003. "I always dreamed of doing this as a kid," said defending IROC Champion Kurt Busch. "You watched the races on TV growing up. You saw the Unsers racing, the Earnhardts, of course any NASCAR, IRL or open wheel legend for that matter. You wanted to go out and compete with them because they were the best of the best." The IROC event is preceded by the Fire 911 ROMCO Super Late Model Series race at 6 p.m. This is the third appearance of the series at Texas Motor Speedway. Race fans will also receive an O'Reilly 300 NASCAR Busch Series ticket when they purchase a haircut and All-Star Massage Treatment at one of 26 Sport Clip locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, while supplies last.
