Prayers and Racing on 8/15/09

This has been a very tough week on the Texas Gulf Coast dirt racing community. Texana Raceway Park is very in tune with Jim Scribelitto's situation and Jim and his entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. Some who are staff at Texana Raceway Park race at Jim's track, some work at his track in addition to Texana and some attend as fans for almost every race. When we all say that the dirt racing family is one huge family it is really true as we are all connected, especially in this case.

More tough news. Texana Raceway Park has had a tough one dealt to one of the family members in the middle of this week. Many of you know David who is one of the wrecker drivers at Texana. And, many of you also know David's wife Rosa, who is the manager in the Concession building. Rosa fell this week and hit her head. She was transported to the hospital and is suffering amnesia. Not a lot known why she fell or how exactly she fell as she was alone. She was fluent in English and Spanish but now only remembers how to speak English, and she knows no one, not even her family at this time. Although she can speak, she doesn't know who she is and remembers nothing about her life. It is basically like starting over. Doctors have not found any particular brain damage or swelling through catscans, so this may be a long road for the family. If you know David, Rosa and their family, you know they are great people. This is going to be a tough road ahead for this family. Please keep Rosa and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

With heavy hearts upon all of us thinking about both Jim and Rosa, Texana Raceway Park will still be racing this weekend, 8/15/09.

We will have the final series of the South Texas Championship Modified Series race hosted at Texana for 2009. We will also have kids Go-Kart races at intermission. And, Mr. Jesse Manning, driver of the #76 Modified will be our featured driver for the night.

Mini-Stocks are scheduled off this weekend.

Thank you,

Monty Chamberlain

"If you ask of my Father, He will hear your prayers". "Where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them". JESUS! The Lord is hearing our prayers! :)
