IMCA Modifieds

Paul Hanusch and Chris Glick lead the field to the green. Chris Glick got the lead on the start while brother Chase Glick had trouble and quickly fell to the back and took a wild ride to the red yellow area.

The 1st caution came on lap 1 when Keith Green spun and stalled in turns 3 and 4. Green made his way to the red yellow area under caution.

The 2nd caution came on lap 4 when Randall Harwell spun and got stuck in the mud at the bottom of turns 3 and 4. Under caution Ben Ketteman went to the red yellow area but made it back out before the race was back underway. Chris Glick was out front again on the restart as Keith Green returned from the red yellow area a few laps down. The battle for 6th between David Hanusch, James Holder, and Johnny Sheets was tight as D Hanusch seemed to be holding up the pack.

At halfway the running order was Chris Glick, P Hanusch, Trevor Egbert, George Egbert, Ronnie Warren, Holder, Sheets, Shannon Parsons, Green, Dave Cook, Chris Renniger and Cody Williamson. By lap 14 Chris Glick had a full straight lead over P Hanusch.

With 5 to go the running order was Chris Glick, P Hanusch, G Egbert, Holder, T Egbert, Warren, and Sheets.

The track was FAST and tricky. It was wet on the bottom and a small rut in the middle of turn 1. The middle line going into turn 3 was a little dry slick, but Glick had it figured out!

Chris Glick in his Hoover Chassis went on to take the win! P Hanusch held on to cross the line 2nd. George Egbert started 9th and finished 3rd. James Holder made an impressive run from 14th to take 4th. Trevor Egbert rounded out the top 5 slipping from his 3rd place start.

SIMS Modifieds

A wild start for the SIMS for opening night at HOT!!! Ronnie Reese and Sam Sovey lead the field to the green then all hell broke loose! Sovey seemed to jump the start and took the lead on the start. Going into turn 1 Sovey was out front with Roy Ewing behind. Pole sitter Ronnie Reese was on the inside of Ewing and pushed going into turn 1. Reese got into Ewing sending him into a spin in front of the whole pack. Several cars were collected and the chaos ended with Dave Stewart being shoved on top of Ewing who was then facing the pack. The red flag was thrown and those left in the "pile" were Roy Ewing, Dave Stewart, Mike Chutes, DL Wilson, and Peanut Necessary. Ewing, Wilson, and D Stewart were done for the night. Ewings car looked terrible but it was mostly cosmetic. Stewarts car came to rest with his right front literally in Ewings face. The first lap was not completed, complete restart.

The beneficiary of the big pile up was Chris Cogburn who went from a 10th place start to an outside front row on the complete restart. Cogburn got the lead on the start. Robert Black with right front damage from the first lap maylay seemed to be having trouble holding up traffic while running 6th.

At halfway the running order was Cogburn, Sovey, Sid Kiphen, Mark McDaniel, and Black.

The 2nd caution came on lap 11 when Brandon Stewart spun into the infield at the bottom of turn 4. Robert Blacks night ended in a BIG cloud of smoke bringing out the 3rd caution of the night on lap 13. On the restart Sovey lost his hood coming out of turn 4 bringing out the 4th caution. The 5th and final caution flew again on the lap 13 restart as Mike Chutes jumps tires and gets sideways collecting Greg Taylor and Eric Thomlinson piled in late. The red was thrown to untangle the mess!

On the restart the running order was Cogburn, Kiphen, McDaniel, Green, Greer, Jody Buzbee, B Stewart, and Sovey.

Cogburn in his Smileys Chassis cruized on to the win followed by Sid Kiphen in his Shelby Chassis taking 2nd. Mark McDaniel rounded out the top three ending a WILD night for the SIMS drivers!

Craig Brown and Brandon Dulock lead the field to green with Dulock grabbing the lead early. Benji Kirkpatrick had a great run on the first lap moving from 6th to 3rd by the end of lap 1. Chad Estes had trouble coming off of turn 2 and dropped a few spots but lucked out with the first caution coming out before the next lap could be completed. The 1st caution came on lap 2 when Daniel Kent and JR Lester got out of shape coming off turn 2. Lester ended up broadside facing the back wall.

Dulock was out front on the restart while Kirkpatrick moved into 2nd as he and Dulock pulled away from the field. Chad Estes took over 3rd on lap 3. By lap 6 Estes was running down the top 2. At halfway the running order was Dulock, Parsons, Estes, Kirkpatrick, and Thompson. Lap 10 saw contact between Estes and Kirkpatrick for the 3rd spot. Estes had a good run going in to turn 3 with Kirkpatrick on the outside. Right in the middle of 3 & 4 as Estes pushed up just as Kirkpatrick was coming down the contact resulted in both cars turning sideways and racing through the infield with both only losing a few spots! The 2nd caution came on lap 12. A pat on the back goes to Benji Kirkpatrick, Jason Batt, and Shad Stevens who quickly stopped when the flagman accidentally tripped the red light instead of the flashing red yellow! All drivers should react as these guys did! Kirkpatrick went to the red yellow area under caution to change a left front flat that resulted from the contact with Estes, but made it back out before the green. On the restart the running order was Dulock, Parsons, Estes, McGee, and Thompson. Dulock who had lead the entire race had trouble on lap 14 as he quickly dropped to the back of the field handing over the lead to Shannon Parsons. The 3rd caution came on lap 16 for JR Lester. On the restart Parsons remained out front as Jason Batt moved into 2nd. Daniel was a man on a mission making some wild moves to take over 3rd. Parsons went on to take the win followed by Jason Batt who came from 8th. Daniel Kent crossed the line 3rd coming from 12th. Justin McGee rounded out the top 4 coming from 11th.
