TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY RACE WEEK TO FEATURE LABONTE TRIFECTA

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (March 18, 2004) -- Labonte. That name that is synonymous

with Texas racing. Brothers Terry and Bobby hail from Corpus Christi and will

do battle on Sunday, April 4, at Texas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup

Series Samsung/RadioShack 500. But, a third Labonte will also be a part of the

weekend activity - in the Busch Series O'Reilly 300 on Saturday, April 3.

Justin Labonte, son of Terry and nephew of Bobby, makes his season debut driving

the #44 Coast Guard Dodge for the family owned Labonte Motorsports.

"It is going to be something that is really special. Coming out here with the

Coast Guard is great," Justin said. "A ton of family and friends always come

out here at Texas, so that adds a lot to it. I know it is my Dad's favorite

track. He has had some great runs here. He always looks forward to coming out

here, so it will be fun."

Bobby Labonte is making a rare start in the Busch Series. The 1991 Busch Series

champion will join his nephew in the O'Reilly 300 field, driving the #29 car for

Richard Childress Racing.

"It's cool that Justin is going to be racing here in his first race of the

season, and I have the opportunity to run the Busch race too," Bobby said. "I

haven't run a Busch race in a long time. Obviously, Terry and I will be running

together on Sunday, so it's a really neat deal for all three of us to be racing

at the same place. I am very impressed with the fact that he can go fast so

quickly. Also, like his dad, he has a very calm personality."

Terry watches with the look of a proud father as Justin moves up the ranks on

the race track.

"Watching Justin run always amazes me," Terry said. "When I watch the car

running around the track, and it comes in and Justin gets out of the car, it

always appears that somebody's driving it that has years of experience."

Justin Labonte will be challenged by the rest of the Busch Series regulars and

nine drivers from the NEXTEL Cup Series in the O'Reilly 300.
