‘Nitro Jam’ on SPEED Debuts This Saturday

The 2009 “Nitro Jam” season on SPEED begins the year at the inaugural Summit Racing Equipment Mardi Gras Nationals in Baton Rouge this Saturday, April 18th at 3 p.m., Eastern Time.

Three professional classes, Top Fuel, Pro Modified and Elite Motorsports Pro Stock are showcased, with special emphasis on the teams.

“We are truly excited about the return of IHRA Nitro Jam on SPEED in HD. This year the programs will be faster paced and showcase highlights from the entire weekend including the Night of Fire,” states IHRA President Aaron Polburn. “Our first event, the inaugural Summit Racing Mardi Gras Nationals at State Capital Raceway was non-stop action. The weather was perfect. The hospitality of the track including that from the fans, drivers and crew was welcoming.

“It’s a new look and feel for IHRA Nitro Jam”, added Polburn. “The show is fast paced, telling the story on track and behind the scenes from first to the championship pass. The true, compelling story lines surrounding Top Fuel winner Bruce Litton, Pro Mod winner Ray Commisso and Pro Stock champion Jason Collins are entertaining, real and emotional. You will feel like you are there.

“You feel the thrill and agony each team encounters on their way to victory. You see and experience what winning and teamwork means.

The “Voice of IHRA Nitro Jam drag racing, Ken Stout will once again provide play by play.

“It’s not “Nitro Jam” without Ken, the hardest working guy in motorsports television,” Polburn added.

The Summit Racing Mardi Gras Nationals presented by Wolverine Boot and Academy Sports will be rebroadcast Monday, April 20th, 5 PM, Eastern Time.
