A-Main

The SUPR Late Model 40 lap, $2500 to win A-main started with Raymond Merrill and Doug Ingalls on row one. Merrill was first into turn, but caution was out quick for a spin by Michael Coleman in turn 1. As the green flew again,Merrill grabbed the lead, with Ronny Adams, on the high side, moving into second past Ingalls. Adams moved along side Merrill on lap 3, with the duo side by side at the line, with Adams getting the nose ahead.

Merrill fought back to lead lap as the two continued their door to door battle. Adams retook the top spot on lap 5, with three wide action between Kevin Weaver, Randy Timms and Ingalls for fourth. Merrill again charged back to wrestle the lead away from Adams on lap 7. Rusty Cummings reeled in the Weaver, Timms, Ingalls trio on lap 9 to complete the foursome.

By lap 10, Merrillgot a little breathing room over Adams, who had a big gap over the the third place battle. Merrill ran into traffic on lap 12, as the top seven started to spread out. Cummings moved up into third on lap 13 as he, Ingalls and Kenny Merchant scrapped it out for the position. That trio holds five SUPR Late Model Championship between them.

Merrill was easily blasting through traffic on lap 15, increasing his lead at the same time.

As the crossed flags were shown it was Merrill, Adams, Cummings, Merchant and Ingalls holding the top five spots with Merrill holding nearly a full straightaway lead. By lap 25 Merrill had lapped up to eighth place, while Roy Moore moved into a top five spot. Merrill was still motoring away and by lap 30 had almost a half track lead, with Ingalls closing back in on Cummings for third.

The caution flew on lap 34 for Dan Leatherman stalled on the track, erasing Merrill's seven second lead. On the restart Merrillstill had a six lap car buffer over Adams, Cummings and Merchant, who were all together in mid-pack. As the green flew, Merchant got by both Adams and Cumming to grab second, despite kissing the wall coming out of turn 4.

Merrill once again ran away from the pack building nearly a second lead at the white flag. As the checkers flew it was Merrill taking his first ever SUPR Late Model win using the big motor/small spoiler package. Merrill is sponsored by Merrill Check Cashing/Renulite Racing Wheels/Eagle/Kuntz.
