Brandon Bendele....did the big leagues over look this talent?....because I think he is good enough to race with anyone on that level.

Is it about talent anymore?

Not if you don't look good and talk good. It's 1 part talent and 1 part marketing.

In 2000, Brandon was working for Tex Racing in North Carolina, hoping to get that "big break" and making some industry connections. One of his roles was a fabricator on a Craftsman Truck being prepared by Tex Racing for driver Tom Carey. During a 3-day test when Carey was testing at an out-of-town racetrack, Max Jones of the Roush Gong Show (in the early days of the Gong Show) left messages at Brandon's apartment and at Tex Racing for Brandon to travel the next day to Toledo for a driver test. Brandon never got the messages until after the test was conducted. The winners that year were Nathan Haseleu and Chuck Hossfield.

Such is fate.

Today, Brandon is happily married with one child. Has a great job at Terracon Corp. And he is fortunate to drive the well-prepared Bob Garwood race cars at Houston, and occasionally at Pensacola and Mobile.
