PRO-CUTS TEXAS WORLD MODIFIED PROGRAM TO DETERMINE TRUE CHAMP

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (March 3, 2004) – The Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track Friday and Saturday, March 5-6 will help answer a burning question – who is the best modified stock car driver in the Southwest?

The weekend will offer two complete racing programs for modifieds and the O’Reilly SUPR late models on the four-tenths mile Dirt Track. The first green flag will drop at 5 p.m. each evening. Saturday night’s feature winners will leave Fort Worth $2,500 richer apiece.

The modified portion of the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship will determine a true champion for this popular form of stock car racing. Special rules for the weekend allow vehicles from all sanctioning bodies to compete for the championship.

A total of 51 teams have pre-entered the modified portion of the weekend. Speedway officials expect at least 50 more modified teams to enter at the Dirt Track on race weekend. Heat races and features will be staged each night.

Modified legends Troy Taylor and Keith Green lead that division’s pre-entry list. Both have garnered multiple championships at north Texas dirt tracks.

A field of four dozen O’Reilly SUPR late models is expected. Defending champion and point leader Kenny Merchant leads the late model field along with SUPR contenders James Ward and David Ashley.

Free grandstand tickets to the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championship are available at 93 Fort Worth-Dallas area Pro-Cuts locations. Customers will receive two free tickets, good for either evening, with a purchase of $15 in haircuts or hair care products.

Tickets at the gate will be $20 for adults and $10 for children. More information is available at www.texasmotorspeedway.com or (817) 215-8500.
