LA MONTE, MAYETTA USMTS SHOWS POSTPONED, MAKES FOR QUADRUPLEHEADER NEXT WEEKEND

 

LA MONTE, Mo. (March 26) – The USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour events scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, March 27-28, at the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo., and Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan., have been postponed.

 

The show at LA Raceway will now be held next Thursday, April 2, while the Thunderhill Speedway race has been moved to Sunday, April 4.

 

“We've been monitoring the weather 'round the clock the last few days, and it doesn't look good for this weekend,” said USMTS President Todd Staley. “Rather than have all of our drivers make wasted long trips or have our fans sit in freezing cold weather, we felt it was best to move the shows to next weekend and give everybody four shows in a row.”

 

The two events are now the bread in a star-studded quadrupleheader sandwich next weekend as the series heads to the West Siloam Speedway in West Siloam Springs, Okla., in between the two on Friday and Saturday, April 3-4.

 

All four blockbuster events will be worth valuable points in the Bear Tire Mo-Kan Region of the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour. A power-packed field of cars are expected as the two-day show at West Siloam will also be a points contest for the West Region of the USMTS Southern Series.

 

The winner's share of the purse is $9,000 over the four day. Thursday, Friday and Sunday carry a $2,000 paycheck to the winner of the Sunoco “A” Main, while Saturday's winner at West Siloam will pocket $3,000.

 

• Thursday, April 2, LA Raceway, La Monte, Mo. – Pit gates open at 3 p.m., grandstand gates open at 4, hot laps start at 6:30 and the first heat race is at 7 p.m. Local Street Stocks will also be racing. The LA Raceway is a 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval located 3.5 miles west of SR 127 on Hwy Y. • Friday-Saturday, April 3-4, West Siloam Speedway, West Siloam Springs, Okla. – On Friday, Pit gates open at 4 p.m., grandstand gates open at 5, hot laps are slated to begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 p.m. On Saturday, pit gates open at 3 p.m., grandstands open at 4, hot laps are at 6 and the mud starts flying at 6:30 p.m. The West Siloam Speedway is a 3/8-mile high-banked clay oval located 5.5 miles west of Arkansas/Oklahoma State Line on US 412. The Thunderhill Speedway is a 4/10-mile high-banked clay oval located 14.6 miles north of US 24 on US 75 to 142nd St., then 2.2 miles west.
