LOL CONTACT: Sarona Winfrey Brian Briscoe --For Immediate Release-- TEXAS CROWN ROYAL IROC RACE TICKETS TO GO ON SALE MARCH 1 -- IROC TEST DRIVERS HIT TEXAS TRACK FORT WORTH-DALLAS (February 25, 2004) - Tickets to the prestigious Crown Royal International Race of Champions (IROC) Series at Texas Motor Speedway will go on sale Monday, March 1 at 9 a.m. Advance tickets are specially priced at $35. Tickets will be the full-price of $40 beginning the Monday of race week. The Crown Royal IROC event is set for Friday, April 2 at 8 p.m. as part of the Samsung/RadioShack 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series weekend. The 12 drivers participating in 2004 are: NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, 2003 series champ Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch, the 2003 IROC champion; Indy Racing League IndyCar Series drivers Helio Castroneves, Scott Sharp and IRL IndyCar Series champ Scott Dixon; NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil; World of Outlaws 2003 champion Steve Kinser and Danny Lasoski; and USAC champion J.J. Yeley. On Thursday and Friday, February 26-27, Crown Royal IROC test drivers Dave Marcis, Jim and Jay Sauter will be at Texas to test the IROC cars in preparation for the April 2 event. "This is going to be a great event," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "We are so pleased to have the Crown Royal IROC Series at Texas Motor Speedway. It's an all-star event for motorsports and the fans are going to love it." The ROMCO Super Late Model Series will also be part of the Friday night lineup running prior to the IROC event. The series has competed at the speedway on other race weekends the past two seasons.
