NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES DRIVERS LINING UP TO PARTICIPATE IN

BUSCH SERIES O'REILLY 300 AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Feb. 23, 2004) - Nine NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers have

committed to compete in the Busch Series O'Reilly 300 race at Texas Motor

Speedway on April 3.

The drivers will be doubling up that weekend as they also compete on Sunday,

April 4 in the NEXTEL Cup Series Samsung/RadioShack 500.

Those confirmed to run both races at Texas are Greg Biffle, Jeff Burton, Robby

Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Bobby Labonte, Joe Nemechek, Johnny Sauter,

and Michael Waltrip.

"The field for the O'Reilly 300 will resemble almost that of a Cup Series

race," speedway president and general manager Eddie Gossage said. "With one of

the biggest Busch Series purses and crowds, the O'Reilly 300 always attracts a

number of drivers from the Cup Series. This race is a great opportunity for our

fans to see the top drivers from both series in one race."

Several of the Cup drivers competing in the O'Reilly 300 have enjoyed some of

their most successful racing efforts while competing at Texas Motor Speedway.

Nemechek is the defending O'Reilly 300 champion, Biffle won a truck series race

and the series championship at Texas in 2000, and Burton took the checkered flag

in the inaugural Cup Series race in 1997. Kenseth won the 2002 Cup Series race

at Texas Motor Speedway, and is fresh off his win on Sunday at Rockingham,

edging out Kahne at the line for the win. Bobby Labonte will be in the field

with his nephew, Justin, who is making his Busch Series debut at the Texas race.

Ticket sales for the Busch Series O'Reilly 300 have been brisk with the

addition of the NEXTEL Cup Series drivers to the field. Some good frontstretch

seats remain for the race, which takes the green flag at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday,

April 3.
