Definitive Posted January 24, 2009 Report Share Posted January 24, 2009 Ummm....the dogleg is the term used for the front stretch of the track.It is a little longer than the back stretch.If their sensors detected 218 then maybe they'll have to figure out their average speed again.I think that track has more turn than straight.Maybe Neil can help us out with that.I think maybe if these numbers are just something an excited Biffle said off the cuff to a reporter then they may not be completely accurate. NeilTPS Posted January 24, 2009 Report Share Posted January 24, 2009 The banking at Texas World Speedway was 22 degrees in turns 1, 2, 3, & 4. The start/finish turn area maximum banking was 18 degrees. (All TWS banking was 4 degrees more than Michigan, which was built by the same firm). The reason I used the banking degree "was" term, was because I assume that ground settling may have taken place and reduced banking degrees in some sections of the old 2 mile super-speedway.
