DAYTONA 500 WINNER DALE EARNHARDT JR. AND MORE HEAD TO TEXAS TEST SESSIONS

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (February 19, 2004) - Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr.

is one of two-dozen drivers scheduled to test at Texas Motor Speedway prior to

the Samsung/RadioShack 500 race week.

In addition to NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series teams, the Crown Royal

International Race of Champions (IROC) Series and Toyota, the newest NASCAR

Craftsman Truck Series manufacturer, are also slated during the 12 days of

testing at the 1.5-mile superspeedway.

"We find ourselves pretty busy each year at this time," said speedway general

manager Eddie Gossage. "Not only are we getting ready to host these drivers and

more than 200,000 fans for the Samsung/RadioShack 500 race week, we also see

many of the drivers testing here prior to the event. It's not unusual to see a

handful of teams booking the track for tests and then have a dozen more guys

show up to take part. We're glad they put so much importance on doing well at

our events."
