Egbert Gets HOT Win

 

ELM MOTT—Trevor Egbert from Salado won the fast, non-stop IMCA modified feature Friday at the Heart O' Texas Speedway. Johnny Sheets from Gatesville finished second and G.W. Egbert from Belton ran third.

 

Chris Cogburn from Robinson took top honors in the IMCA SportMod feature. Visiting drivers, Matt Mueller from Stamford and Steve Hayes from Eastland, rounded out the top three.

 

Nathan Sodek from Temple won the IMCA hobby stock feature followed by David Bizzonnette from Stephenville and Chris Cogburn.

 

Brandon Geurin from Whitney topped the street stock field winning the feature race over Ed Thompson and Doug Andrews, both from Waco.

 

Wade White won the highly competitive pure stock feature. Fellow Wacoans David Andrews and Jack Jenkins settled for second and third.

 

Jeff Williams took the cruiser feature over William Dean and Jeff Woodruff.

 

Garret Rawls from China Spring, Dillon Payne from Hillsboro, and Jordan Kornegay from China Spring were the top three finishers in the junior mini stock feature.

 

Next week is the final point race for the 2008 racing season. IMCA modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA hobby stock, street stocks, pure stocks, cruisers, and junior mini stocks will run features only. Features in all classes will be lined up by total points. Owners’/Mechanics’ races and Powder Puff races will also allow non-racers a chance to have a little seat time on the track. The registration deadline for these races was September 19. Gates will open at 6:00 P.M. and races will begin at 8:00 P.M. The annual Fall Classic on October 23-25 is the final event scheduled for the year. Check www.heartotexspeedway.com for more information.
