Pacecar
What's the racing story? On MyLaps.com, Heath started on the pole and led almost half the race. Then Heath and Schild started losing positions rapidly and Barker got the lead. Then Heath seemed to make up some ground. What happened? Anybody get flats? Congratulations, Robert Barker. Can't tell you exactly what happened other than flats were trouble for some, getting off line put you in the gravel and made you a passenger. Schild hit the front straight wall hard after some kind of failure. Barker checked out on the field even with all of the yellows. His luck finally held out. Nice track, unbelievably hot (107 F) fwiw, gravel sucks! Todd
charger
We would like to thank all the teams that came up to Wichita Falls. We had worked on the pits and actually swept them alot pior to the event. We also put in a new apron in turn one and four to help with the late models. I will say that the sweeping did not work out all that well. We are going to install a asphalt road from the entrance back to the pit building with rumble strips. When the cars leave the pit area to stage on the track this will help knock the gravel off of the tires and also give the crews somewhere to make sure the loose gravel is gone. We are also going to take a roller and roll the pits again. We built some very nice pits just the gravel is not wanting to stay down back in March 60 degrees not a problem today with an average of 105 degrees well its not that great ! We would once again like to think everyone for making the trip !! Thanks Mike Cooper General Manager Red River Speedway

racechick
ya Jakes car looked bad until he pulled in the pits came back out and it looked back to normal... til you got up close From what I saw I honestly doubt that any cars hit one another... every caution or wreck was due to tires going down or just flat out blowing...
