rebelracewriter
Big win for Brack on night three of Big Dog Dakota Classic Tour WILLISTON, N.D. (July 8) – Once he made it to the front spot, there was no catching Will Brack on night three of the Big Dog Chassis Dakota Classic Tour for IMCA Modifieds. Brack made his way into Tuesday’s main event at Williston Basin Speedway by winning his “B” feature, started the feature from 13th and wound up winning the 30-lapper in convincing fashion. The victory was good for $1,200 and put the Colorado clipper on the ballot for the 2009 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Hank Berry started on the pole, led the first 16 laps and wound up taking home runner-up points for the night as well as the point lead halfway through the series. Reese Coffee, Mike Hansen and Troy Heupel followed Berry across the stripe. Berry, Matt Brack, Jay Noteboom and Heupel held down the top four spots the first 10 times around the track. Will Brack caught Heupel on the next lap, before the first caution of the contest, and was running second when the 13th circuit was scored. After following the higher line from the initial green, Brack went to the bottom groove to get by Berry on lap 17, then rocketed to a straightaway lead before a lap 23 caution brought the field back together. Hansen, another “B” qualifier, moved into fourth after the re-start and chased Brack, Berry and Coffee to the checkers. Berry had shared the top spot in the standings with Aaron Turnbull, who did not qualify for Tuesday’s main event. Randy Fyllesvold won the caution-free Dakota Track Side Classic Series feature for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Kody Scholpp, Josh Sattler, Kelly Henderson and Nathan Burke rounded out the top five. Fifty-two Modifieds and 22 Stock Cars saw action Tuesday. Both series take to the track again Wednesday at Williston, where the inaugural Stock Car tour champion will be crowned. Modifieds travel to Southwest Speedway at Dickinson on Thursday and end their 19th annual series on Friday at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan. Feature resultsModifieds – 1. Will Brack, Mead, Colo.; 2.
