TPS adds 11th 2008 Race to the Schedule

San Antonio, Texas

An eleventh race on October 18 has been added to the 2008 Texas Pro Sedans event schedule at Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas. The race will post approximately a $6,100 purse and $1,000 to the winner. The race will be the final 2008 points event and will crown the TPS Champion and will complete the 33rd consecutive year of racing by the TPS four cylinder stock car series.

The Red River Speedway race was recently added to the Texas Pro Sedans racing schedule with the signing of a contract between RRS General Manager, Mike Cooper and TPS Race & Administrative Director, Neil Upchurch.

Cooper said, “we were pleased with the quality of racing and car counts that TPS brought our ¼ mile, 13 degree banked oval. The TPS race in March helped RRS re-open. Our June TPS race was successful and had an almost full grandstand. October 18th will mark the third appearance of the Texas Pro Sedans at Red River Speedway during the 2008 racing season and will be part of the tracks annual North Texas Asphalt Championship event”.

Upchurch seconded Cooper’s remarks and added, “Several TPS car owners/drivers took a large hit to their repair costs after the lap one mass crash at the green flag on June 14. In spite of that regrettable incident, many TPS drivers have stated their intention to file entry for the October 18 TPS season ending race at RRS”.

The Saturday night, October 18th Texas Pro Sedans race at Red River Speedway will include 2 laps of Qualifying Time Trials, a 12 lap Last Chance Qualifying Race and a 50 lap Feature Race for the 22 car starting field.

The Texas Pro Sedans schedule is highlighted by the following remaining events at Thunderhill Raceway which will precede the TPS season concluding 11th race Red River Speedway.
