The next weekend March 14-15 the USMTS Southern Series will make a stop at the Saratoga Speedway in Corpus Christi, TX for the first ever USMTS Texas Nationals. This race will be a complete show each night and will pay $2000 on Friday and $2500 to win on Saturday. The first race of the USMTS southern series took place two weeks ago and three different winners in three nights of racing. Johnny Bone, Eddie Martin, and Jason Krohn all picked up wins at the Rio Grande Speedway in McAllen, TX at the end of January. After the first three races Johnny Bone has a one point lead over Eddie Martin with Scott Drake sitting three points out of the top spot. A total of sixty-three different cars raced the first southern series race in Texas. A open practice will be held on Thursday night starting at 6:30 pm and going non stop until 10pm. On Friday the gates will open at 4pm with the first race scheduled for 7:30 pm. Saturday night racing will also get underway at 7:30 pm. A complete show will be run each night. Your story brings up an interesting point. There was no mention of this show Saturday night when the speedway opened their regular season and word has it that the promoter of the series and the track have not reached an agreement as yet. Maybe you need to contact someone at the speedway. 361-767-7676

Hubb,From my understanding,the race was canceled due to a large usmts show at west plains in missiouri,so due to low car count and running into problems,Todd Staley is looking at running the show may 2nd and 3rd and the guys will pull up to waco/Bellmead for the sunday show on the 4th,$2000 to win each nite.
