Grand Prairie Spwy Changes as of 4/14(sanction, costs)

Recommended Posts

After talks with IMCA today, we will no longer be running the IMCA Modifieds or the IMCA Stock Cars. We WILL, however, still be IMCA sanctioned for the Southern Sport Mods.

Effective Friday, April 18, we will be running the following classes:

Outlaw Modifieds , IMCA Sport Mods , Street Stock , Bombers, Winged Mini Sprints (3 times per month)

Modified Rules as of now: Cowtown Rules with choice of tire being: Cowtown Hoosier, IMCA Hoosier (stamped or non-stamped), T-Bird Hoosier or KK704. No mufflers required as of now. Aluminum heads allowed with 50lbs of weight added to car. Rules may be adjusted at a later date.

Bomber Rules as of now: Cowtown, T-Bird and 85 Rules apply. Rules may be adjusted at a later date.

NO REGISTRATION FEES FOR BOMBERS OR MODIFIEDS.

To help the racers with the rising cost of fuel prices, GPS has decided to lower the price of race gas by $1 per gallon from $8 to $7.

Wednesday Night Test and Tune:

Effective Wednesday, April 16, GPS will only be charging $5 per person for all ages entering the pits for test and tune. Grandstands will be open at no charge.

Grandstands:

Since all attention is paid to the drivers and crew members, GPS has also decided to lower the cost of the adult General Admission ticket to $8 per person.

Kristi and I understand that not everyone will be happy with or support our decision, but we feel at this time it is the best business decision for GPS. We want to thank all of the drivers, fans and crew members for their support of GPS thus far.

Keith Pirtle, Head Judge at GPS, will be following this post with a post regarding point structure and line-up procedures for all classes with the exception of the Sport Mods.

Thanks

Jimmy
