$5,000 to win I.M.C.A. Stock special starts season at Ark-La-Tex

VIVIAN, La. (Dec. 9) – Ark-La-Tex Speedway will kick off its 2004 season

with the inaugural I.M.C.A. Stock Car Nationals Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 24-25.

Winner of the 50-lap feature at Vivian earns $5,000, with a minimum of $500

paid to start the main event. Pit gates open at 9 a.m. both days, with hot laps

at noon and racing at 1 p.m.

Entry fee is $100 if mailed by Jan. 10 or $150 after that date. Test ‘n tune

is Friday, Jan. 23, with an open practice get-ting underway at 3 p.m.

Rain date is Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

Sponsors of the event include Sunoco Race Fuels, Lone Star Super Gas and Day

Motor Sports. Questions about the Stock Car Nationals can be directed to

Ark-La-Tex became the first track in Louisiana to sanction the Stock Car

class with I.M.C.A. in 2003.
