Some great pics, there.

This would be June, 1985, as All-Pro did not run San Antonio in 1986 or 1987.

#14 Freddy Fryar finished second to Gary Balough in the #112. Balough was in the Dillon car that had a carbon-fiber tub in it. He said it helped with chassis rigidty, but also acted as a giant heat-sink, making it really hot in there.

#3 is Randy Couch from Georgia, who finished fifth in the race.

#5 is Daniel Keene from Tampa, who finished fourth in the race.

The car on the other side of Fryar is the #31 of Steve Grissom of Alabama, who was the Series champion in 1985.

#15 is Jody Ridley from Georgia, who took over the Dyess car after Butch Lindley was critically injured at Bradenton, Florida.

#58 is Darrell Brown from Birmingham, who finished third this day, and was also the 1984 All Pro champion.

#68 is Ronnie Broadway from Mississippi, who is in the car that Rick Crawford would later drive.

#69 is Sidney Minton of Memphis, who raced most of the All-Pro races over the years.

#73 is Dennis Langston from Tampa.

Tom you forgot the Big 4 auto parts truck in the back ground of Jim Pallas, I don't remember if he drove in it or some one else.

Pretty sure Slick Yoemans drove it this day, I believe he finished 6th.

This was the year that Dad hosted a big bar-b-q at Mission Chevrolet for all the racers and crews and media. Had a bunch of the cars there and lots of folks got to come out and see the cars up close. We were flat wore out by the time that night was over. Mr. Gunn showed up and said he had never seen so many people on a car lot.....he wished someone would buy something.

Balough "stole" one of the banners and it showed up on his windshield before the race.

Notice the damage to Ridley's car, he was taking a few extra practice laps on Fri night and really was pushing the edge. Can't remember which end of the track(1&2 or 3&4) but the wall decided to bite back.

See Carl Colicher(Carl's Johnny on the Spot, one of Freddy's sponsors) and Eddie Howard by #14's left front.

That was a great weekend.

Billy
