Inclement weather postpones opening night,

cancels Sunday Series date at Thunderbird

CRANDALL, Texas (March 4) – Inclement weather will postpone opening night,

as well as result in cancellation of this weekend’s Day Motor Sports Texas Super

Sunday Series event at Thunderbird Speedway.

The Crandall, Texas, track was scheduled to host its first points races of

the season on Saturday night, with the second series event of 2003 for

sanctioned Modifieds and Stock Cars on tap the next day. Less than ideal weather

conditions of late have prevented track officials from getting the facility in

racing shape.

I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modifieds and Stock Cars head the re-scheduled opening night

program, now set for March 15. The next of what will now be 11 Sunday Series

races is March 23 at Texas Thunder Speedway in Killeen. Racing starts at 7 p.m.

Keith McCullough was the Modified winner and Tim Clonch won the Stock Car

feature when the series opened Feb. 23 in Abilene. Drivers’ eight best finishes

will be used to determine final point standings in each division.

Questions about the series can be directed to the I.M.C.A. home office, at

(319) 472-2201.
