rebelracewriter
Record number of IMCA state champions to earn Smiley’s Racing Products awards MESQUITE, Texas (Feb. 13) – IMCA’s biggest class of state champions will earn contingency awards again this season from Smiley’s Racing Products. In its fourth year as title sponsor of the program, the Mesquite, Texas, chassis builder and high performance parts manufacturer and distributor will give $100 gift cards to each state champion in the Modified, Late Model, Sprint Car and Stock Car divisions, and $50 gift cards to drivers finishing at the top of state standings in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Southern SportMod, Hobby Stock, Crate Model and Sport Compact classes. Gift cards will be mailed to drivers after points become official this fall and can be used in making purchases at any Smiley’s retail location, over the internet or by phone. State champions will also receive jackets and plaques during the national awards banquet in November. Points earned at drivers’ first 55 starts in sanctioned weekly or designated special events during the regular season will determine 70 state champions. Sixty-five state champions were crowned last year. Two hundred and ninety-four different drivers have been recognized with state championship prizes since IMCA introduced the program in 2000. “Smiley’s Racing Products has recently moved into a brand new facility and really streamlined their business to accommodate every IMCA racer,” said Kevin Yoder, director of marketing for IMCA. “It is as easy for state champions in Utah and New York to get parts from Smiley’s as it is for racers in Texas and Oklahoma, making it one of the best places you can shop no matter where you live.” Information about products available from Smiley’s is available by calling 972 289-7223 or at the www.smileysracing.com website.
