Abilene Ice Breaker boasts first regional

event for IMCA Southern SportMods

ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 13) – IMCA Southern SportMods see their first

regional action, while Modified winners will earn a bigger share of

the purse at Abilene Speedway’s season-opening Ice Breaker special

Feature events will be held each evening for the sanctioned

Modifieds, Southern SportMods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks.

Saturday’s show doubles as the inaugural regional event for the

Southern SportMod division and allows drivers their first opportunity

to earn national points outside the 55-race cap. All three SportMod

features during the weekend pay $750 to win.

Big John’s Chassis of Abilene is adding another $300 to the Modified

purse, upping first-place money each night for that class to $600.

Top prize for each Stock Car feature is $300 and Hobby Stocks run for

$250 to win each night.

SuperFlow South Central Region, Destroyer Chassis Southern Region,

Smiley’s Racing Products state and local track points will be given

all three nights. Jet Racing Northern Region points will be also

awarded in the Stock Car division.
