Racing during the Day Yes Or No

SASPEEDRACER24

Would you be interested in either watching or racing starting at say 1pm or 2pm and maybe during the first 2 weeks or last 2 weeks of the season instead of the norm.

Jason's right, the reason we run at night has a lot to do with how hot it is down here. Racing earlier during the first few weeks of the season or the last few weeks might solve that problem but you'd have the further problem of fans being used to night racing and not realizing this week is "different." It's the same problem you have trying to race on Friday night.

Well the reason why I said first 2 weeks or last 2 weeks was to solve the heat issue. TQ I think if you ran them at the end of the year as you come to such races you could do alot of things to promote it either by announcing it during the previous nights race to announcing it here and other racing venues. It could work just takes a little effort and as a must do it duing a cooler part of the season definately not during the middle of the year...

A few promotors have tried afternoon racing at various times over the past 25 years in South Texas. So far, it has not worked very well. March weather is iffy at best as is November weather. It's either wet, too hot or too cold. Of course, racers want to race no matter what, so there is always some racer sentiment for racing earlier and later in the season. However, historically the fan support has not been there.

That being said, there have been successful afternoon events at Texas World Speedway but there is no track lighting available there anyway.
