rebelracewriter Posted November 13, 2003 Report Share Posted November 13, 2003 CONTACT: Sarona Winfrey Gary Guehler -- For Immediate Release RESERVED CAMPING FOR 2004 RACE WEEKENDS ON SALE NOVEMBER 17 FORT WORTH-DALLAS (November 12, 2003) - Reserved camping for the Texas Motor Speedway 2004 individual race weekends will go on sale Monday, November 17 at 9 a.m. Tens of thousands of race fans traditionally fill the 4,700 reserved camping spots in the Workhorse Custom Chassis Campgrounds located outside of Turn 3 and 2004 is expected to be just as big. "We've already sold hundreds of reserved camping spots for the 2004 season," said speedway director of tickets and business development Kevin Camper. "In the past years, we've sold out all the reserved spaces for the Cup weekend by the end of January." Lone Star Circle Reserved includes 2,200 reserved spots closest to Turn 3. The individual race week/weekend prices are $200 for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Samsung/RadioShack 500 and $150 per weekend for both the Bombardier 500k and Chevy 500k Indy Racing League IndyCar Series events. Spaces are still available in this area for $300 for the season. Victory Circle Reserved encompasses 2,500 sites adjacent to and east of Lone Star Circle Reserved sites. The individual race week/weekend prices are $150 for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Samsung/RadioShack 500 and $50 per weekend for both the Bombardier 500k and Chevy 500k Indy Racing League IndyCar Series events. There are also two areas on the east side for tent campers. Unreserved tent sites are approximately 10' x 15'. The individual race week/weekend prices for all events is $75 in the Lone Star Circle Tent City and $50 in the Victory Circle Tent City. No generators are allowed in the tent camping areas. "We've put a lot of effort into improving the camping areas over the years including new permanent shower and rest room facilities," said Camper. "The feedback has been really great from the fans." Available reserved campground services include: * 24-hour security * Dump stations near all camping areas * Mobile trucks circulating through the camping areas collecting waste and replenishing water supplies (for a nominal fee) * Emergency repairs for RVs available (for a nominal fee) * Convenient "shower tram" service to the shower area A limited number of unreserved camping sites will be available on the west side of the speedway sold on a first-come, first-serve basis during the Samsung/RadioShack 500 race week only.
