rebelracewriter Posted August 7, 2007 Report Share Posted August 7, 2007 For Immediate Release/Your Information Aug. 4, 2007 From Bill Martin, IMCA Public Relations 319 472-2201, x225 IMCA Modified ‘Stars’ come out Aug. 9 at Hancock County Speedway special BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 4) – Many of the brightest stars in the IMCA Modified galaxy will shine on Aug. 9 at Hancock County Speedway’s 13th annual ‘Night of 1,000 Stars’ special. Top prize in the Thursday night show is $2,000, making the event a qualifier for the 2008 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Lap money will be paid, with all qualifiers for the 24-car field earning a minimum of $200. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $400 to win and national, home region and Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be awarded in both divisions. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and hot laps are at 6:45 p.m., with racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $2 for kids 6-12 and five and under get in free. Pit passes are $25. The event was most recently sanctioned by IMCA in 2002.
