rebelracewriter Posted June 8, 2007 Report Share Posted June 8, 2007 KROHN TURNS THE TABLES ON SHRYOCK AT OSKY OSKALOOSA, Iowa (June 6) - Jason Krohn needed a motor Tuesday night, so his friend and chassis builder, Kelly Shryock, hooked him up with his spare powerplant for the night at the Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa. Shryock won the race while Krohn finished second after an impressive run from 19th on the starting grid. On Wednesday night, the O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series ventured east to the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Krohn still had the borrowed motor under his hood, and it paid dividends as he raced to his second win of the season to pocket the $2,000 top prize. With just four nights under his belt with a new car, Al Hejna looked like he might steer his No. 7 Harris Chassis to victory for the first time since the season opener in early March. After leading 14 laps, however, the “A-Train” gave way to Krohn, who sped away from the field over the final 16 orbits to get the win. Shryock came from 10th to take home the runner-up paycheck, while Jason Hughes finished third. Hejna held on for fourth ahead of brother Mike Hejna. Sixth through 10th were Tony Fraise, Jon Tesch, Zack VanderBeek, Richie Gustin Jr. and Scott Green. The Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster was kind to drivers' equipment tonight too. All 24 cars that started the Holley “A” Main crossed the finish line after 30 laps of exciting caution-free action. Other winners during Wednesday night's event were Brad Pinkerton (USRA Stock Cars), Brett Moffitt (USRA B-Mods) and Danny Thrasher (USRA Hobby Stocks). The next stop for the O’Reilly USMTS will be Thursday for a Central Region tilt at the Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa. Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and grandstand gates will swing open at 5:00. Hot laps start at 6:30 and the first green flag is scheduled to wave at 7:00. Also on the racing card will be the USRA Late Models in a co-headlining event paying $2,000 to win.
