THIRTY NITRO CARS EXPECTED FOR THIS WEEKEND’S NITRO JAM EVENT IN TULSA

Densham and Wilkerson Recently Added to 320 mph Nitro Funny Car Field

NORWALK, Ohio (May 23, 2007) – With the recent additions of Gary Densham and Tim Wilkerson to the Skull Shine Sooner Nationals Nitro Funny Car lineup, nearly 30 of the flame-throwing, 320 mph nitro-powered dragsters and cars will compete this weekend, May 25 – 27, at Tulsa Raceway Park.

“As Americans adjust to deal with the rising cost of gas, the Nitro Jam event offers people in Tulsa a great piece of entertainment that’s close to home,” said IHRA vice president of marketing Jim Marchyshyn. “Tulsa Raceway Park is just minutes from downtown and easily accessible. In addition to saving gas, fans and families can take advantage of an affordable day at the races.”

Densham, running select Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam™ events in 2006, won two races and finished 7th in the final point standings. He and Wilkerson are both multiple-time event winners on the NHRA circuit.

Also pre-registered for Torco Racing Fuels Pro Nitro Funny Car this weekend include defending world champion and current points leader Dale Creasy Jr., Jack Wyatt, Jon Capps, Bob Gilbertson, Terry Haddock, Andy Kelley, Todd Simpson, Paul Lee and James Day.

The Torco Racing Fuels Pro Top Fuel entries include Scotty Cannon, T.J. Zizzo, Bobby Lagana Jr., Doug Foley, Bruce Litton, Terry McMillen, Chris Karamesines, Scott Weis, Mike Strasburg, Jim Cavaleri, Fred Farndon, Kevin Jones, Mitch King, Luigi Novelli, Jack Ostrander and Michael Gunderson. Oklahoma native Scott Palmer will be competing in Top Fuel as well.

All professional categories will qualify Friday (May 25) at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday (May 26) at 12 noon and 6:30 p.m. Eliminations are scheduled for Sunday (May 27) at 10:30 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m. and final round at 4 p.m.

The Warren CAT “Night of Fire” show, part of Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. session, features the final round of professional qualifying under the lights, including two flame-burning Nitro-fueled classes. The ground-pounding Super Shockwave jet-powered truck will cap-off the night with a blast down the track.

With that many Nitro cars trying to make the field, yep, more like blowouts, coming out the sides of the diapers-lol.I've Been keeping up with the weather up there, they may be using the Buffalo and Jet more than the Scrubbie trying to keep the track dry if the showers keep rollin thru.Looks like I may be doing the same thing here at the Clash, playing Track Drier between Squirts.Should be a tight track with all the drying and reprepping and dragging in.May need me an armored suit on the line when the drivelines pieces start flying-hehe
