McGuire Wins at HOT

 

ELM MOTT—Belton driver, Pat McGuire, finished first in the shortened I.M.C.A. modified feature Friday night at the Heart O' Texas Speedway after the race exceeded the time limit due to several red/yellow situations. Kenny Stone from Troy raced hard to second, and Keith Green from Robinson ended up in third.

 

The I-stock feature was won by Chad Estes from Troy. Benji Kirkpatrick from Elm Mott moved to second after the second place finisher was disqualified, and Mark Geurin from Whitney went to third.

 

David McKay from Van Alstyne won a fast and furious I.M.C.A. SportMod feature. Lil’ Robert Black from Hallsburg took second, and Chris Cogburn from Robinson was third.

 

Jeremy Bost from Waco led Michael Robertson from McGregor and Nathan Sodek from Temple to the checkered flag in the I.M.C.A. hobby stock feature.

 

The street stock feature winner was Paul Bolfing from Waco. Runner-ups were Doug Andrews from Elm Mott in second and Ed Thompson from Waco in third.

 

Charlie Norris from Hillsboro picked up his first winner’s trophy of the season in the pure stock feature. Norris Meeks from Waco and Ray Vann from Axtell completed the top three.

 

Jeremy Knight from Lacy Lakeview inherited first place after the race winner was disqualified following a post race inspection. William Dean from Elm Mott advanced to second, and Dan Webre, Jr. from West moved to third place.

 

The top three finishers in the junior mini stock feature were Leon Alvarado from Riesel, Dylan Smith from Robinson, and Garett Rawls from China Spring.

 

Emil Horak from Dallas was given the first place prize after an action-packed demolition derby with 13 combatants. Johnny Clark from Burnet and Tommy Honey from Waco rounded out the top three.

 

Next Friday will be a regular race program for all classes highlighted by Kids’ Battery Powered Vehicle Races. Gates open at 6:00 P.M. and racing begins at 8:00 P.M.
