ALLEN, Texas -- Due to the overwhelming response to Wednesday’s announcement it will televise O’Reilly World of Outlaws Series races in 2004, The Outdoor Channel announced Thursday it will televise two of this season’s final five events.

Outdoor Channel television crews will tape the Texas Showdown at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track October 10-11 and the Season Finale at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dirt Track October 31-November 1. The telecast of the Texas Showdown will air between 11 p.m. and midnight Eastern Time November 5th, while the races from Las Vegas will be shown between 11 p.m. and midnight Eastern Time November 19th.

The Outdoor Channel will produce and telecast a minimum of 27 events on a tape-delayed basis in 2004. The one-hour telecasts will air every Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time between April and September as part of The Outdoor Channel’s "Wednesday Night Horsepower" time slot. Most telecasts will air within 14 days of each race. Additional replays will be presented Saturdays at 8 a.m. Eastern Time and Thursdays at 10 p.m. Pacific Time.

The O’Reilly World of Outlaws Series is the world’s premier sprint car racing series, sanctioning 72 events over 100 dates at 50 tracks in 27 states and offering more than $10 million in purses, contingencies and point fund awards during its 25th Anniversary Season.
