(April 19, 2007) – As the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series gears up for its first event at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, on Saturday night, a quick look at the series stats from the opening seven nights of the 2007 season is in order. Saturday's card will mark the 484th feature event in ASCS National Tour history and just the ninth in the state of Mississippi. Texas racer Travis Rilat has enjoyed the most ASCS success in the Magnolia State, notching three wins in eight events. Rilat first scored at Pike County Speedway in 2002, then picked off a pair of wins at Delta Bowl Speedway in 2004. Other Mississippi ASCS winners, all with one Mississippi score, have included Gary Wright, Shane Stewart, Tim Crawley, Terry Gray and Garry Lee Maier. The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With 13 different Regions in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
