Park Jefferson’s Spring Thaw special rescheduled for April 21, 22

 

JEFFERSON, S.D. (April 10) – The Spring Thaw special at Park Jefferson Speedway has been rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22.

 

IMCA Modifieds will take the green flag in $1,000 to win main events each night, with both winners joining the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational race to be held during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals in September.

 

Qualifying for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks starts Saturday at Jefferson, with features for all three classes on the Sunday night card.

 

Northern SportMods vie for a $700 check, with $500 to win in the Stocks and $350 to win in the Hobbies.

 

IMCA national, home region and Smiley’s Racing Products state points will be awarded.

 

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m. both days.

 

Clubhouse admission on Saturday is $6.50, with adults paying $5 to watch from the grandstand. Kids 14 and under will be admitted free.

 

On Sunday, clubhouse admission is $13. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $3 for kids 14 and under.

 

Pit passes are $20 on Saturday and $25 on Sunday.

The Spring Thaw was postponed from April 6-7 because of cold and wet weather.

 

All four IMCA divisions will be on the program when the half-mile clay venue opens for the regular point season on Saturday, April 28.
