ASCS Sooner Region Adds Creek County Dates

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (March 28, 2007) – Located just southwest of Tulsa, OK, Creek County Speedway played a pivotal role in the formative years of the American Sprint Car Series back in the 1990's.

So it's only fitting that the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region has added a pair of events to the 2007 schedule at the racy semi-banked, ¼-mile clay oval in Sapulpa, OK.

The highly-competitive series will take to Creek County Speedway for the first time this year on Sunday night, May 27, with a return engagement slated for Saturday night, September 22.

The May 27 date makes for a Memorial Day weekend double, as the series will be in action at Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, OK, on Saturday night, May 26. The September 22 date will lead into the series season finale two weeks later, a two-night stand at Mid-America Speedway on October 5-6.

The pair of ASCS Sooner Region events rounds out a strong blend of Sprint Car specials for Creek County Speedway. The track will host the third leg of the 15th Annual ASCS Sizzlin' Summer Speedweek for the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour on Monday night, July 16. Then one month later on Thursday night, August 16, the wingless stars of the O'Reilly Sprint Bandits Tour 'N Topless series will take to the quarter-mile oval.

With the addition of the Creek County Speedway pair of events, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region 2007 slate now consists of 18 events at eight different tracks throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas.

The series kicks off the 2007 season with a pair of events south of the Red River at Waco's Heart O' Texas Speedway on Friday, April 13, and Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale on Saturday, April 14.

The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With 13 different Regions in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
