RodneyRodriguez
I read that his misfortune gave Dale Earnhardt the big break in Winston Cup. Something to the effect that he was slated to drive a car in the late 70's and for some reason, he was removed from that ride the day before that event. The team owner put in his place a young lion named Earnhardt, thus the legend was born.
Definitive
I didn't get to see Ribbs at his peak I guess. When I started watching Trans-Am racing on TNN,he was already an also-ran.I equate awesome with the likes of Tommy Kendall. Was Ribbs success on that level? arts22
I asked if anyone knew him because up until this past week I never heard of him. I got to meet him and also see alot of his trophies and pictures. He now lives near Austin and said he would definately come to a few races at THR. I was just curious to see how many people knew of him.... Poorboy, winning 5 races his rookie year and 17 the next 2 years in Trans-Am driving for Jack roush, sounds awesome to me..... tps48
Maybe Randy Larsen can talk him into driving for him. In another thread he said he might be looking for another driver. Couldn't do any better than Willy!
gundogC3
Very level headed driver. Didnt do to well in cup, but he could drive the wheel's off of a trans am car!
