TOWER, TICKETS, AND TESTING AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Feb. 11, 2003) - It is just six weeks until RPM Week-Texas activities at Texas Motor Speedway. A flurry of activities are underway getting ready for the Samsung/RadioShack 500 race weekend:

GOING UP!: The scoring tower that recently fell in the infield at Texas Motor

Speedway will be rebuilt and relocated to Turn Four. The 110-foot structure, weighing approximately 41,000 pounds, fell on Jan. 28 during high winds near the speedway. The estimated cost of building the new tower is approximately $250,000 and construction on the tower will be completed in time for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series Samsung/RadioShack 500 race weekend March 27-30.

TICKETS GOING...GOING....: Individual tickets for the Samsung/RadioShack 500 are going fast and nearing a sellout. But, there is still an opportunity to get excellent front-stretch viewing for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day on Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28. General admission tickets, which are $10, are available at 900 O'Reilly Auto Parts stores across 16 states. All advance O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day tickets must be purchased at O'Reilly Auto Parts stores. The tickets are good for BOTH days of qualifying. The speedway will have general admission tickets, also good for both days, available at the gate for $15. O'Reilly has store locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.

TESTING...TESTING: Several teams will be testing at Texas Motor Speedway over the next few weeks. Bill Davis Racing (March 3) and Joe Gibbs Racing (March 4) are the first Winston Cup teams scheduled to test. They will be followed by Roush Racing (March 17) and Hendrick Motorsports (March 18). Test sessions are closed to the public.
