(October 19, 2006) – While Gary Wright wrapped up his third consecutive O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National championship just this past weekend at Devil's Bowl Speedway, the series is already looking ahead to an action-packed 2007 season. Gearing up for a 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing events in 2007, the American Sprint Car Series has already developed a preliminary National Tour schedule for next year that includes more than 50 dates throughout the country. The series will kick off at Tampa's East Bay Raceway Park with the Ninth Annual "King of the 360's" on January 25-27, with the January 27 Ronald Laney Memorial event offering up a lucrative $10,000 winner's share. More than nine months later, the series' 2007 season will come to a conclusion atop the same Tampa clay with the November 9-10 season finale at East Bay Raceway Park. Twenty-seven tracks throughout 15 different states are currently on the 2007 O'Reilly ASCoT National slate. A $150,000 point fund will be in effect once again, with $50,000 earmarked for the 2007 O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National champion. The following is a preliminary schedule, with all dates tentative and subject to change. With the National Tour doubling to more than 50 events in 2007 along with the series' nine existing Regions (Sooner, Gulf South, Rocky Mountain, Midwest, Southern, Sprints on Dirt, Patriot Sprint Group, Northern Plains and Mid-South) and the addition of the Coastal and Mid-Atlantic Regions, the ASCS will sanction more than 225 nights of racing at approximately 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada next year.
