White Wins Nationals at HOT

ELM MOTT—Keith White from Academy, who already has the track championship along with the national championship, took home the top prize Saturday night at the I.M.C.A. Southern SportMod Nationals at the Heart O' Texas Speedway. 85 racers from Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma competed in the two day event. Michael McCullough from Denison finished in second place, and Keith Green from Robinson came in third. The win did cost White his engine when it was claimed in a swap following the race.Â

Lil’ Robert Black from Hallsburg took home the beautiful winner’s trophy in the Race of Champions for the top driver in point standings at tracks that held at least 10 I.M.C.A. sanctioned events during the year. Keith White took home second place in this event, and Duain Pritchett from Pendleton was the third place finisher.

Shane Clement from Bonham won the Sprint Series of Texas feature from a field of 29 cars. Ryan Beechler from Anna ran second, and Mike Herring from Flower Mound took third.

The Brazos Mini Sprint feature winner was Michael Mooney from Bryan. David Bruce from Reagan and James Scruggs from Bryan followed in second and third.

The final event of the 2006 racing season will be the Fall Classic scheduled for Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28 for I.M.C.A. modifieds, I-stocks, I.M.C.A. SportMods, I.M.C.A. hobby stocks, street stocks, pure stocks, mini stocks, cruisers, and junior mini stocks.  Check for information on our website at www.heartotexspeedway.com.
