JustaFan
I heard through the grapevine that a flagman may have been injured this weekend @ Battleground. Can anybody verify or give an update? He was supposedly hit while picking up debris.
HOUSTONLM04
I asked the same question in the Dirt forum and got a detailed response there. In short, it's not good news as he was hurt badly.

dancer52
Chuck - Several tracks in the Houston area are taking up donations this weekend for the injured official & his family. I just checked who won & there was no updates on his condition since yesterday. If anyone would like to make a donation, let me know. I am going to one of the tracks this Friday & could turn in any money collected then. Thanks!
rebelracewriter
Here's a cut/paste from the whowon.com forum by the Battleground photographer. Bob Meyers was struck by a car under caution, but was seriously injured during the Bomber feature. He was taken by Life Flight to Hermann Hospital and is currently in ICU. Bob suffered a Broken neck, Pelvis, and Ribs. He has a punctured lung and is in a Coma. He also has blood around his brain, but the brain is not swelling, and the bleeding is slowing down. He is breathing on his own, but the next 3 days are going to be critical. The doctors have friends and family there with him, talking to him, trying to get him out of the coma. He is semi-responsive, he can feel when you pinch him, he is moving his legs. If you know him, you can visit him at Hermann Hospital, they say that familiar voices may bring him out of the coma. Next weekend, Battleground and HRP will be passing the helmet around to help Bob, we hope other tracks will do the same. You can contact me at 281-541-1301 if you want to work something out at your local track to help a fellow member of our racing family. Bob has raced Dwarf cars and Stock cars. He has been out of the drivers seat for 2 years, and just last week, he was looking at another Late Model and said he was thinking about getting back into racing. We are thinking about you Bob!!! ------------------------- Drive fast, Turn Left!
