Winners Lose Engines at HOT

 

ELM MOTT-Henry Witt, Jr. from Waco won the IMCA modified feature at Sunday night's Fan Appreciation/Leon Wilson Memorial race but lost his engine in a post-race claim. J.P. Dowell from Killeen finished second and Glen Allen from Austin took third.

 

Tim Ezell from Buffalo and Benji Kirkpatrick from Elm Mott earned the top two spots in the I-stock feature and faced the same fate as Witt when they both lost their engines to claims. Rodney Everhart from Copperas Cove was third.

 

Chris Cogburn from Waco picked up the win in the SIMS/ULMA limited modified feature followed by Albert McCall from Red Oak and Don Pierson from Combine.

 

Keith Green from Robinson won a special Top Ten IMCA modified race with Cody Williamson from Waco taking second and Malcolm Harmon from Clifton, third. The purse for this race was donated by the Wilson family.

 

Racing action will return Friday night in IMCA modified, I-stock, SIMS/ULMA limited modified, street stock, pure stock, cruisers, and junior mini stock classes. Sunday, August 3 will be the second Enduro 250 of the season. Gates open at 6:00 P.M. and races begin at 8:00 P.M. both nights.
