TPS Changes Race Format at THR

Hoosier “Bounty” on Donnie Moore

San Antonio, Texas

At the Sunday July 2nd race at Thunder Hill Raceway, a significant race format change has been made and a “Bounty” has been posted for that Texas Pro Sedans Series event.

Texas Pro Sedans rules state “Grid format for each race will be varied as possible and determined by the Race Director”. Accordingly, TPS Race Director, Neil Upchurch announced at the May 27th Drivers Meeting and in the July 2nd Race Bulletin “There will be a race format change to partially invert qualifying heat grids for the Independence Day holiday Sunday night event. Specifically, the high half of drivers in TPS points will invert to start Qualifying Heat #2. The outcome of Heat #2 will determine the outside row starting positions for the TPS Feature Race. Qualifying Heat #1 will start the lower half drivers in TPS points heads up and will determine inside row starting positions for the TPS 20 lap Feature Race”.

Also announced in the July 2nd TPS Race Bulletin “Jerry Spencer, the TPS Hoosier tire dealer, has posted a tire award at the July 2 race. If Donnie Moore elects to start last and wins the Feature Race or if another driver wins the race and stops the winning streak of Donnie Moore regardless of Moore’s starting position, that driver will win a TPS Hoosier tire”.

The Texas Pro Sedans portion of the July 2 THR program will feature two 8 lap Qualifying Heat races and a 20 lap Feature Race for the TPS four cylinder stock cars.

I hope Donnie & George look at the overall picture of their championship possibilities and don't be lured by a tire gimmick.

Is it fair that anybody can win this tire by simply winning the race, except Donnie? He has to start at the rear and win.

What’s next? Pay drivers that win often not to race?

I want to win, beat the best at their best, without handicaps!

I wish other people thought the same way. Funny you think this now, we've ran restrictor plates, less left side % and you never said this when you were kicking restricted cars' butts. Just giving you a hard time. Good luck in Kyle.
