Heat 1 Jeff Tubbs, Colby Kansas Heat 2 Justin Yeager, Green River Wyoming Unfortunately he forgot to pull "directly" to the tech area and was DQ'ed giving the win to Jeff Hartwell, Colby Kansas Heat 3 Gary Clark, Walker Missouri Heat 4 John Logue, Boone Iowa Heat 5 Mike Snyder, Platteville Colorado Heat 6 Brady Coen, Wiley Colorado Heat 7 Mike Sagel, Greeley Colorado Heat 8 Mike Sandholm, Kenosha Wisconson Heat 9 Monte Bolton, Lubbock Texas Heat 10 Dr AJ Warta, Colby Kansas Heat 11 Eddie Martin, Stilwell Oklahoma DQ'ed in tech due to illegal fuel pump giving win to Mike Sigler, Aurora Colorado Heat 12 Kellen Chadwick, Oakley California Qualifier 1 Top three to Sat. nights A-main Brady Coen got the lead and edged away while Chad Chadwick and Cliff Lawson exchanged slide jobs battling for second. By lap 5 Justin Yeager had worked from the tail to seventh, as Lawson ran down Coen for the lead. Halfway showed Coen, Lawson, C Chadwick, Jeff Tubbs and Yeager in the top five. As the lead duo ran nose to tail, Yeager picked off C Chadwick for fourth and moved into third when Tubbs got together with a lap car and spun. Coen got a good jump after a late restart to grab the victory. Top ten, Coen, Lawson, Yeager, Jon Benededitti, Bill Brack, Joseph Alvardo, Brad Boyer, Tubbs, Bill Clymer, Jim Needham Qualifier 2, Jeff Hartwell jumped into the lead as Mike Sagel and Kellen Chadwick ran door to door for second. After a lap 4 restart, Jerry Phillips, K Chadwick and Darren Williams were three wide for third and closing on Hartwell. Williams was looking low while Phillips was trying high as the top three were wheel to wheel to for the lead at halfway, with Phillips getting nose ahead. Hartwell got a bumper ahead on lap 11 as they continued to stay glued at the kick rails on lap 12. After a yellow, Phillips could not mount a significant challenge again Hartwell got a slight lead to take the win Top ten, Hartwell, J Phillips, Williams, Bill Luncock, K Chadwick, Sagel, Tony Schultz, Joe Cleveland, Bradley Shelton, Danny Concelman Qualifier 3, Gary Clark and Mike Sandholm put on one heckuva race starting out side by side on lap 1. Clark got the advantage on lap 2 with Sandholm hot on his tail. At halfway Sandholm was still pasted to Clarks bumper followed by Brook Phillips, Ricky Alvarado and Don Shepherd. Sandholm got the nose inside Clark going down the backstretch with Sandholm inching ahead on lap 13. Clark fought back and was able sneak across for the lead again on lap 14. Sandholm finally gained the point on lap 15 going on the snag the checkers. Top ten, Sandholm, Clark, B Phillips, R Alvarado, Shepherd, Perry Misner, Dulane Conclasure, Ray Laird, Corey Covelli, Phillip Canaday Qualifier 4, Monte Bolton and John Logue lead the field to green and the two stayed in that position through the first three laps. Bolton lead lap 1, with Logue inching ahead on lap 2 and Bolton retaking the top spot on lap 3. Bolton was finally able to gain some space over Logue on lap 5. Bolton was continuing to pull away at the mid point trailed by Logue, Richard Hesse, Kenny McCarty and RC Whitwell. Even after a late restart Logue couldn't do anything to get past Bolton as Bolton got a good jump and moved away for the victory. Top ten, Bolton, Logue, McCarty, Whitwell, Hesse, 8X?, Tim Anderson, George Ashby, Josh Reisch, Marlin Kracht Qualifier 5, The front row of Mike Snyder and Dave Lindsay got together on lap one with Lindsay almost spinning in front of the pack as he fell to the back. Snyder led lap 1 until Ken Maloney and Monty Nordyke both inside. Snyder was the odd man out as he and Nordyke made contact sending him spinning off turn three. Nordyke was sent to the tail for the contact giving the lead to Maloney. At halfway Maloney was holding off the challenges of Wayne Houston with Mike Shaw, Conrad Burkhardt and Frank Perez rounding out the top five. The top trio pulled away as Shaw, Burkhardt and Dr AJ Warta ran three wide for fourth. The local Keenesburg Colorado driver, Maloney went on to take the checkers.
