NickHolt
Here are the results from 7-12-03 at Thunder Hill Raceway. I have to tell you, if you missed this weekends racing you missed a heck of a showing by all of our classes, but especially our Late Model class. We had a total of 10 cars start our Feature. Normally I do not comment on how things went and who got disqualified, but this time I am because this class put on one heck of a show. Like I said we started this race with 10 drivers. Richard Norman started us out on the pole, but on lap 5 Richard and Robert Stewart got together to bring out the yellow and this sent Robert to the back of the pack with Richard retaining the lead spot. With another quick yellow we had to send Shawn Lehman to the back for spinning Wayne Walker. On lap 7 Leland Waddell took the lead just to have another yellow brought out by the Mark Chrudimsky for a solo spin. By lap 13 Robert had worked his way back to the lead position. In the mean time Mark was making his way back to the front.and by lap 17 Mark had moved into 2nd place chasing down Robert. For the next few laps Mark was chasing and catching Robert and once he caught him we had about 10 laps of bumper to bumper and side by side racing down the front straight away, which had the crowd on the feet and hollering everytime they came by. The ironic part of all of this that both drivers had jump starts, we were able to penalize Robert for his jumps, (because we had yellows) but Mark was not because we did not have anymore yellows. (Marks happened on the restart after the last yellow) So that meant he would have to be put back the one position that he jumped at the end of the race. So when the race was over Robert Stewart had the win. BUT, he ended up being 6 pounds to light. And since Mark had jumped one spot, that dropped him to third. Which left Leland Waddell with the win. And well deserving. He was fighting to keep that postion over David Snokhous. This is not meant to take away anything from the other drivers that were out there because they were racing just as hard and changing positions also. Like I said, if you missed tonights racing, you missed an exciting show. We had 18 Dwarf cars, 16 Pro Sedans and 19 Streets. And Fireworks at the end of the night. And believe it or not Brian didn't blow up anybody, including himself.
