NickHolt
For Immediate Release -- Feb. 27, 2006 From Bill Martin, IMCA Public Relations 319 472-2201, x225 Brown bests IMCA Modified field twice at Ice Breaker By J.M. Hallas ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 25-26) A little luck landed Scotty Brown in victory lane twice during the Ice Breaker special at Abilene Speedway. After Friday's scheduled opening night program was lost to rain, the Dallas driver raced to $500 Saturday and Sunday IMCA Modified feature victories. "We got just got lucky," Brown admitted after taking the Saturday checkers. "We broke a tie rod end on the last lap and couldn't have made another lap." Other Saturday winners were Tom Earl Jr. of Duncanville in the Jeff's Performance Southern SportMods, Fairbury, Neb.¹s Josh Carpenter in the Stock Cars and Allen Montgomery of Rhome in the Hobby Stocks. Mary Hogue of Abilene paced Sunday's Southern SportMod main, becoming the second woman to win a feature in what is now the two-plus year history of the division. Duain Pritchett of Combine scored the Stock victory and another Nebraska long tow, Wade Wagenblast of Deshler, topped the Hobbies. Southern SportMods and Stock Car features paid $300 to win, while first place in the Hobby mains was worth $250. Nearly 240 teams from six states were on hand for the season opening points event. rebelracewriter
Damn don't we know that guy from somewhere. It appears that IMCA doesn't hold the same opinion of his writing talents as someone else does!
