ASCS Sooner Region Slate Released

 

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 19, 2006)- The 2006 schedule for the American Bank of Oklahoma American Sprint Car Series Sooner Region was released from the series' home office in Tulsa, OK, today.

 

The 2006 ASCS Sooner Region schedule currently consists of 16 events at eight different tracks throughout Oklahoma and North Texas.

 

 

Currently, Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, TX, bookends the 2006 ASCS Sooner Region season, hosting the season opener on April 8 and the season finale on September 23. Cowtown Speedway also hosts the popular series on June 10.

 

 

New stops for the ASCS Sooner Region include Paris Motor Speedway in Paris, TX, on June 9 and Waco's Heart O' Texas Speedway on July 21. The July 21 Heart O' Texas event will be a challenge race versus the Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores ASCS Gulf South Region, with the Fourth Annual ASCS Sooner vs. Gulf South Region Shootout at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, the next night.

 

 

Other tracks on the slate include Lawton Speedway, which has hosted more ASCS Sooner Region events than any other track since the series' inception in 2001, Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway and Mid-America Motor Speedway in South Coffeyville, OK.

 

 

 

The series is also tentatively slated to make a return to Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, OK, near Tulsa, on May 20.

June 9 – Paris Motor Speedway (Paris, TX)

 

June 10 – Cowtown Speedway (Kennedale, TX)

 

June 17 – Mid-America Motor Speedway (South Coffeyville, OK)

 

July 14 – State Fair Speedway (Oklahoma City, OK)

 

July 15 – Lawton Speedway (Lawton, OK)

 

July 21 – Heart O' Texas Speedway (Waco, TX) – vs. ASCS Gulf South Region

 

July 22 – Devil's Bowl Speedway (Mesquite, TX) – vs. ASCS Gulf South Region

 

August 18 – State Fair Speedway (Oklahoma City, OK)

 

August 19 – Lawton Speedway (Lawton, OK)

 

September 16 – Lawton Speedway (Lawton, OK)

 

September 23 – Cowtown Speedway (Kennedale, TX)

 

 

 

Including ASCoT and the American Sprint Car Series Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern, Sprints on Dirt), the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing in 2006.
