That was ONE fast race car! I do remember one night, he got up on top of the guard rail out there for about half a lap, straddled it. That was one bumpy ride, every time he crossed over a rail-road tie that were used for uprights, but never went over it.

Those cars were very unforgiving if you tried rubbing them together. Talk about RESPECT for and TRUST in each other .............. twenty-five lap features were over in less than 7 minutes. "Incidents" were fairly rare. The racing? .......... very fast, highly skilled driving. I guess that's why I find myself a bit impatient at times these days when features are being run two laps at a time between yellows.
