Rainbow Man Posted December 4, 2005 Report Share Posted December 4, 2005 Last night we had our Texas Super Coupe Awards Banquet at Bud Jones. About 20 people family and friends attended. Russell Dechert was Champion and received alot of Awards and cash from our club sponsors. Wayne Crouse was 2nd in points ,"Grandpa" George Bumpers was 3rd, Robert Burge was 4th, Jerry Dechert was 5th he was also awarded a Huge Gold Plated and engraved Wrench for his outstanding service as a driver member. Jerry will continue to promote the class but not as a driver. The top 3 drivers shared 100 gallons of race fuel donated by a sponsor. J&R Race Engines and all other sponsors were honored the night . All the spouses and others received a picture of all the 10 current cars that we have to date a beautiful cake was made by Kathy Bredeson for all with cars of the top 2 winners on it also a truck sponsored by 5 Star Trucking one of the newest sponsors on it. Great time and Good Old Boy Friendship and good food was had by all . Super Season Texas Super Coupes and a Better 2006 to come. Happy Holidays and Seasons Greeting to all see ya at the Races. Rainbow Man Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Share Posted December 4, 2005 thanks for the picture Budman the # 3 car was driven this season by 17 year old Kayla Dechert she took over the ride when Grandpa Jerry Dechert retired from driving. The black # 8 in background was the Champion Russell Dechert Kayla's dad . we plan to do some traveling around south Texas racin the Texas Super Coupes so as soon as we get a tenitive schedule I will post it but we will have a great 2006 Season Racin around South Texas. Budman Posted December 5, 2005 Report Share Posted December 5, 2005 I think it would be great if ya'll could put on some exhibition races at THR and SAS next spring, even if they are asphalt tracks. Would sure be cool to see those type cars out there again at those tracks. Here's the 8 car. (RbowMan, check your email) If that 8 car ain't nicknamed "Darth Vader", it sure ought to be!
