Forum protocol question - When we see something like this which has yet to be posted, should we post in the Announcements, Track Schedules, or Texas Auto Racing section?  Or message Nick, Reb, or someone else ?

I really like the structure that comes with the addition of the Track Schedules forum, and don't want to disrupt that by working against how things might be envisioned.

I'd say here or the Texas Racing section....Maybe there start title with "Breaking News" tho after a couple days I'm sure most knew the proverbial "scatology had collided with the air circulator"🤣

The scheduled ASCS Gulf South Region is STILL on, as originally slated, for Friday and Saturday night at RPM Speedway in Crandall. Official pay will be announced, soon.

There will be a Gulf South and Hurricane region, regardless what happens. Also, regional directors are all working together to keep 360 racing alive.

I haven't seen this posted elsewhere on this site, so I want to alert anyone planning on this weekend's ASCS show in Corpus.  ASCS has cancelled.

See the track's web site, FB page, or Revved Up Sports to confirm.

    My sympathies to Owen.

Ya it's a pretty crappy deal all 'round....I wondered what was up when Emmett Hahn took it back from Terry Maddox....Right now its "rumored" to have WRG/WoO looking to acquire it, similar to what High Limit Sprints did with ASCoC last year....But there's nothing set in stone yet.....So ASCS is kinda in limbo until the shit(and it is just that) gets straightened out or acquired by WRG or someone else.....I do think the ASCS Elite series is still running shows, but that's run by Nathan Moore, but under the ASCS banner.

  5. So you're saying no 1/4 mile dirt track and 1/8 mile drag strip????....Asking for some people....IYKYK....A gas station is the most logical answer with all the fuel, oil and other contaminants already in that soil.....Are there any parts/memorabilia left to strip?

This should pretty much put any rumors of someone restoring the track to rest....

    Thank you Jesus!!!

  6. This one hits hard.....I lost a good friend today....As many have already heard Slider passed away.....I hope it's true that he's now disease and pain free and reunited with his mom, that he dearly loved.....Slider was one of a kind.....I can't think of anyone that loved dirt track racing more than he did.....He always said I had an open invitation to stay the night and his place in Waco or Laguna Park...I spent a few night in the guest room at his mom/step dads place......We'd stay up all night talking racing and bullshitting......I'm glad he and HWJ came to be friends after years of differences.....I hope HOT Spwy. finds a place for him on their wall of fame

RIP Lil Buddy save me a seat at the great dirt track above

HUFFMAN, Texas (Jan. 19, 2024) – The idea of a traveling series deep in the Lone Star State becomes a reality this year, with the inaugural South Texas IMCA Modified Series.

Twenty-one race dates, 18 of them during the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season, have been announced for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, I-37 Speedway in Pleasanton, South Texas Race Ranch in Corpus Christi and Texana Raceway Park in Edna.

“What we want to accomplish with this series is develop an average car count of 15 to 20 cars a night along with a good fan following,” explained Jacob Hortch, a Modified driver who helped put the pieces in place for the first annual tour. “It’s cool to have the tracks working together and focusing on building Modified racing.”

“Everyone is excited for the possibilities that this series can bring and we hope to put on some awesome shows for the fans”

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, GRT Race Cars South Central Region and IMCA state points will be awarded for series events scheduled March 2 through Sept. 28.

“Payouts will be increased throughout feature fields and we are looking for sponsors to help with a point fund,” said Hortch, noting that East Side Hot Rods of Schertz had already signed on to help pay sanction fees for series events.

Brancen Pittman will be promoter and race director for the South Texas IMCA Modified Series.

South Texas Race Ranch hosts the series opener on March 2, along with May 18 and June 29 dates.

    Events at I-37 are March 9, April 6 and 27, June 15, July 6, Aug. 3 and Sept. 14.

Texana Raceway Park shows are set for March 30, June 8 and Aug. 10.

And Cotton Bowl is site of April 13, May 11, July 20, Aug. 24 and Sept. 28 shows.

Series events scheduled after the 2024 point season are Oct. 11-12 at Cotton Bowl and Oct. 19 and Nov. 1-2 at I-37.

A formal announcement on STIMS will be made tonight (Thursday) during the Revved Up podcast.
