  5. I took a Girl Friend on a Date over to S.A. Speedway to watch that race in 1988.  When we got there, The Speedway announcers was calling out to the fans for "Scoring" volunteers to help out with the scoring of that race.  So we helped out scoring that race....

That race had the young  "Clifford Allison"  (Brother to Davy Allison, Sons to Bobby Allison)   competing in that series on that race date at San Antonio Speedway in 1988.  I am thinking that maybe "Red Farmer" may had competed in that race as well if my memory serves me correctly !!!

Had a lot of fun....and was a great race !!!!  those were the good ole days of southern style stock car racing for sure with watching standing members of the "Alabama Gang" racing up close !!!  What a Treat !!!

  6. TSTRS First race date for 2020 has been re-scheduled to kick asphalt on 6/20/20.... as a  NASCAR Home Track now...  The NASCAR line up including the NASCAR Pro- Trucks, NASCAR Pro-Mods, NASCAR Outlaws, & The NASCAR Super Stocks & much more.....

    NASCAR racing is local now....

    Better Late than never !!!

  7. Ryan Newman,  One of my Favorites left over from the Earnhardt era....

Remember this Walk-Away Miracle from the 2003 Daytona 500 in the Penske Dodge,  he just came away with just a headache in that big roll over crash in all most in the same area of the track.

However, He will be needing All of our prayers on this latest crash ….He is expected to live...but his injuries may be much more than a headache though....

NASCAR had went to work on Developing Safer Race Cars since the earlier Earnhardt, Newman Crashes....Among other serious crashes from that era as well.  The New Generation of race cars are much better now days w/ Full Containment Seats, Hans Devices, Safer Walls and other Safety innovations as well...

( However...Good News - Ryan has now been Released & Walked out from the Hospital with his Family in Tow recently.....a Great Site indeed...)

Prayers, indeed for Ryan &  a speedy & Full Recovery ASAP....

  8. Hey, I Know......An Other "Ro-Val Race At Charlotte ,  Or even on the Road-Coarse at Indy !!!!

Remember....Back in the Day....They Did race at the Bull-Ring...."Bowen-Gray" Stadium in North Carolina....And At "Soldier Field" in Chicago a long time ago !!!

Maybe more True "Road Coarse" races such as at: Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio, Laguna-Seca Raceway among others....

Nascar...Raced on Larger Flat Dirt Tracks Back in the Day as well....I would like to see that Happen for sure,  My Self !!!

But !!!  The really Good Racing going now is at "New Smyrna" & "Volusia County Speedway"  Grass Roots Style....Choose your Fix "Asphalt or Dirt"....

  9. Yes !!!  The Mylaps X-260 is one that you Buy,  Own, & Keep Charged up ready for use...  Yes these are the Best way to go.....But are very Expensive.....

A Mylaps 2X is a  Transponder via Paid Subscription to Mylaps….Meaning: if your Annual subscription is paid up,   then your good to go !!!!   ( Sort of a Pain to deal with,  But it is the new way....)

If you have a 2x that is paid up, then your good to go !!!

The System is the SAME !!!  as long as you keep your Subscription is Valid !!!

  10. The Normal Transponder was  a " AMB Trans X -260 " either a charger style or a Hard Wire Mounted 12v style….

These are NOT very "Cheap" to buy new....

So watch out here on LSSZ and the Racing Based Groups listed on Face Book....Used Transponders are listed Frequently on FB.

Also keep in mind that "Head & Neck Restraints" , In-Date Seat Belt Harness, in-Date Window nets, & SFI rated Racing Suits, ALL Required in all of the V-8 racing Divisions at HMP.

At any given time, these items are available here on LSSZ & FB for reasonable pricing....And from time to time there are Two-Way Radio packages available most of the time....

So watch LSSZ & FB racing groups for these Items,  (Street Stock Nation, Circle Track Classifieds, Race Cars Parts Buy & Sell)  as just a few....

    Hope Info Helps....

What is the difference between the Hoosier H10595R750 vs H10590R750 ?

They both appear to be 27.5/ 8.0-15 R750

I understand the H10584R750; it is a shorter tire at 27" but the other two are the same size. Is there a difference in compound?

Seems to be they all fit the "Hoosier R-750 Tire Only" rule

Also, being a newbie I would be open to making a deal with someone for their pull offs if interested. I will be looking for laps and seat time for a while; not setting the fastest lap.

Those are Like Hoosier Part Numbers,  there are three Part Numbers in the R-750 = Short , Medium, & Tall in the total Tire outer circumference !!!  basically the taller go's on the right side,  and a slight bit shorter over all with around 1" to 2,1/2" stagger on the left side.   The " R-750 Tire Compound" is all the same !!!  If your going to buy your tires at Smiley's so to speak.....Just ask for the stagger range number that your needing.... such as ( 86" for the right side...And maybe 85" for the left side as an example !!!)

    (  The shorter = 83" & 84" range, The Medium = 85" range, Taller = 86" & 87" range !!!)  The Stagger is the only thing that Matters....

As "rocket55 said,  feel free to ask for help....Most racers are mostly willing to help out when they can....P/Ms may be the better way to communicate though....

    Hope info helps....

  12. Gina E-Mailed me Yesterday with a Heads-Up to me,   She said that the HMP 2020 Rules will be done this week !!!   Now please Note !!!!   She did not say if the New rules will include any changes coming though.   However the new HMP rules should be released real soon !!!  ( Per: Gina !!!!)

    Hope info Helps….

  13. With out a Doubt a Second Quality Asphalt Racing facility in the Great State of Texas would have been very great....

However as RR is saying....As racers in Texas, We must save our Lament or Remorse over loosing CC Speedway, SAS, & Long Horn Speedway, or even The Proposed Marion Track and move on and put All of our Attention in to HMP and do what we All can to preserve Texas Style Asphalt Racing.   Yes it is a very long haul some of you, and is right in some of us own back yard as well.   We must treat this Racing Facility as it is in All of our back yards.  It is time to just move on and Support any Texas Speedways still operating....Especially the ones that are on " Life Support" so to speak.....

There is news of a new Track coming soon near Livingston, Tx.,  That new Track will need support as well...

The Best way to say it, And Rodney has said it many times:  " Support your Local Speedway across the great State of Texas...."

And remember that HMP is the last remaining Asphalt Speedway and needs a lot of those eggs in that very special one of a kind basket as well...  One of these days we are going to blink possibly....And Poof,  HMP may be gone just like CC Speedway, SAS, & Longhorn Speedway was just in a Blink…..

And Hopefully we don't loose Texana Raceway in Blink....

    Thanks For Your Time....

Whatever happened to the recent initiative to build asphalt circle track at San Antonio Raceway.   Any updates/status, or did the idea die on the vine?

Your Second "Assumption Description" would maybe be a better fit to your question.....

  15. Brian:   "As Rodney had said !!!!  NOT - Slow !!!!...…..Just a different class entirely",  however good job....Hopefully we can get those issues addressed in a positive manor in the off season !!!

Corey:   A good quality & entertaining video....Try to keep those coming when possible,  Please !!!!

    thanks...
