  1. Chad Knaus is one of the greatest of all times, if not the greatest. Chads DQ's are a great subject at all shops around great USA. I am pretty sure there are not many people in the Garage than do not respect Chad. Chad and Bill Belichick will be remembered for their wins, not their DQ's or losses.
  2. hey cperry, i was hoping someone would start telling stories. Like the one that the guy got away with running no restrictor plate at TMS. He as going to finish 4th so he didnt have to go to the tech pad, but they crashed in front of him so he had a podium finish. He still got away with it, they had to heat up their plate and hand it to the daughter of the series guy. LOL They got away with it, yep no plate, had 200 plus more HP
  3. Yes, same way in racing, you only feel like a cheater when you get busted. Other time, you feel like a winner
  4. It is not necessary to win, but most of the time, you have to if you want to beat the ones cheating. Its part of the game, see what you can get away with. Has every driver ever stayed under the speed limit 100% of the time? The answer is no, that does not make them a criminal. But, it sound impressive to say you never went over the speed limit. Just Wink a little when you say it, WINK WINK
  5. Wow, that is awesome. You are the first one that I know that way. Congratulations.
  6. OMG, show me a racing who is 100% legal 100% of the time and you will never find him at the pay window.
  7. Illegal? Pushing the envelope? Whatever you want to call it, you still feel good because you know everyone else is doing the same thing. If not, they are not up front. It is part of the sport. It is nice to say things like that to you kids, but it is not reality
  8. lets hope this does not take cheating entirely out of the sport. Cheating goes back many years. If you aint cheating, you aint winning
  9. Who is the civil engineering firm on this? San Antonio and Kyle had a couple of cool tracks to race on, but you can tell, there was no engineer involved in building those. Take Houston Motorsports Park for example, that track was well engineered. Hope they hired a good one
  10. ok man, order a few extra bodies and I will come watch you boys tear em up. I love to hear the metal crunching
  11. Yea, I really wish they would make the turns a little more sweeping which would make the straights a little shorter. It would also make for quality starts/restarts and a two grove track. No complaints, but if this is their first oval track, they have been receptive of opinions. That is cool. That paper clip may be challenging
  12. It looks like going to the city/county paid off. The 3/8 mile can tons of potential. Time to rock and roll
  13. Thanks for your efforts. I am sure the changes are increasing it to 3/8 mile so there can be decent racing in the Pro Trucks, Modifieds and Late Models. Thanks to Cibolo, I knew they would not be difficult to deal with and with this type of investment, there needs to be upside, like touring series etc.
  14. a 3/8 mile is a perfect short track. Anything smaller and there is no much upside potential. 1/4 milers tear up bodies and the cars look like junk in no time. Nooone fixes them because they will get torn up the next race.
  15. I can tell you this, I am extremely happy someone is stepping up to the plate and looking at doing this. Having an opinion that there is not much upside to 1/4 mile track, is the way I feel. Building a subdivision in an upscale neighbor hood and letting trailer houses move would be a economic disaster. That attitude reminds me of the current senate. Regardless of what I think is right or the facts are, it will be challenged by the liberals. I dont need to put my money anywhere. Now I have read where there may be issues that require it being built over existing impervious surface. I totally understand that, however going to the city/county agency that has put on that restriction would be well worth the time and effort for the upside potential of a 3/8 mile facility.
  16. Just not much upside to a 1/4 mile track. Wont get many, if any late models built for a 1/4 miler and doubt any touring series would come. The corp sponsors want the late model clean looking nascar type cars. These other ones are ok for support, but not your top class. But, if you dont need sponsors and make it off of the the back gate, running the junkers will work
  17. 1/4 mile will tear up more equipment than there is money to fix. It is cool, fans love hearing the metal crunch. Just an economic disaster for the racers
  18. please add a little to it and make it at least a 3/8 mile.
